Dec. 1941: Aunt Peg pregnant; Christmas gifts for Jack, Bill and Richard

Tuesday Eve Dec-16-41

My Dear Charles,

I missed writing you yesterday, and was it the eventful day, the birthday of the Bill of Rights,” There was the most wonderful program on the radio last night depicting the Bill of Rights.  I am so proud to be an american and just what Roosevelt said it should be a felt privlige to fight yes even to make the supreme sacrifice if necessary. God love you Charles and keep you ever close to his most sacred Heart.

P.S.

I went to the doctors today with Margaret, Can you Guess Why.

Thursday Dec-18-41         R.I.P

This is your Grandmother Ranagan’s anniversary in eternity.

Dear Charles,

One week from Christmas and we have not heard from you yet.  Ursula has done considerable amount of work, she has the place looking nice, I have just finished cleaning in the kitchen.  I went to town this morning and bought Jack and Bill a printing press and a extra good wagon, I had bought the three of them watches but I couldn’t dissapoint them, I know they are all excited and looking for toys.  I am still hoping to hear from you.

            My Love to you Charles.
