O’Neil-Malloy weblog debuts

Welcome to the O’Neil Malloy Weblog. My brother Dan and I developed the idea for this Weblog after our Mom Jeanne shared with us some memories of her early years as a Mom.

We hope our siblings and perhaps eventually our cousins and aunts and uncles will contribute to this site. Please email me if you want to be involved, or make comments on postings as a way to be involved.

Jeanne’s Memories: A oral history of Jeanne Malloy O’Neil

In April of 2009, Jeanne Malloy O’Neil was interviewed by Eve Brownstone, a specialist in taking oral histories. In two sessions over two days, Eve recorded Jeanne telling many of the stories we’ve heard before, and probably some we’ve never heard.

I broke up the 100 total minutes of Jeanne’s Memories into 19 installments. I put them here for my siblings, Laurie, Sean, Mark, Michael, Patrick, and Dan, and for all their children and their children’s children. Yes, memories truly can last forever.

Love, Kevin O’Neil – Christmas 2009PS: For a full index of the memories, go here.

All seven O’Neil-Malloy siblings gather in December 2004 on the empty lot where our home at 313 Elsdon St. once stood. The house burned down; a firefighter was killed while on the back of a truck trying to make its way down the tight alley.
